In 2013 St Mary's financed the construction of St Joseph's Rectory and Community Center.  This building was constructed after the 2010 earthquake and as such was built to more stringent standards introduced by the government and the Catholic Archdiocese of Jeremie.  In addition to housing the Pastor, it serves as a guest house for visiting dignitaries and meeting space for community groups. 

 

More than 50 members of St Joseph's parish took shelter in this building during Hurricane Matthew.  Minor water and wind damage and the loss of its solar panels were the only damage to the structure.
