In 2008, St. Joseph’s parish conducted a primary school located in the church without dividers between classes, decent black boards, or qualified teachers.  The students had a desire to learn, and the community had a desire to educate its youth, but there was no infrastructure in place to accomplish their goals.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church supplied the funds to build the school with seven classrooms and an auditorium.  We partnered with Global Solace to install solar powered lights for all of the rooms and continue to fund teacher salaries for St. Joseph’s Primary and Secondary Classes.

In answer to the tremendous need for adult literacy, we began funding adult education classes in 2011.  Education is not a guarantee to a prosperous tomorrow, but without it, there is extremely limited opportunity to pursue a better future.
